Kuala Lumpur : YTL AI Labs, in collaboration with Universiti Malaya (UM) and technology partner Z.ai, has launched ILMUcode, a coding platform that combines AI agent capabilities with the ILMU GLM 5.3 generative language model.
The platform aims to accelerate software development, improve productivity and support Malaysia’s technology education agenda.
YTL AI Labs Chief Executive Officer Foong Chee Mun said software and computer system development had changed significantly over the past four years, shifting from individual coding to AI agents that help write code and build systems.
He said such tools could enable developers to build software 10 to 20 times faster.
Foong emphasised the importance of introducing computer science students to these tools from their first year of study, enabling them to understand how to develop systems more efficiently.
He said early exposure would prepare students to enter the workforce and contribute to society in line with global technological advancements, both before and after graduation.
With UM serving as its academic partner, ILMUcode is expected to foster local innovation and equip young people with the technological skills needed to compete globally.
