Giant Power Generation companies expressed interest to invest in Sabah towards improving its energy reliability

KOTA KINABALU: A six-member delegates from two giant energy companies paid a courtesy call on Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Harun Ismail, here, today.

B.Grimm Power, represented by its First Senior Vice President (Engineering Shared Services Centre) Pattra Pukumpol and Head of International Business Development cum Country Director (Malaysia), Khawar Khan, while Lim Beng Guan and Adel Boumhidi from reNIKOLA Holdings Sdn Bhd, sat for about two hours with Harun to exchange views on issues related to energy in Sabah.

A leading power producer in Thailand, B.Grimm Power, part of the 145 year old B.Grimm conglomerate, has been focusing on cleaner energy production and renewable energy through its co-generation and renewable energy power plants living up to its corporate philosophy “Doing Business with Compassion for the Development of Civilisation in Harmony with Nature” in order to care for the environment.

B.Grimm Power is also one of South East Asia’s largest Industrial Park Power producer and distributor, with 14 Industrial parks in its portfolio.

reNIKOLA is Malaysia’s major pure play renewable energy company, which will be issuing the world’s first sukuk that has been certified by the Climate Bonds Initiative (green sukuk).

During the meeting, both companies expressed interest to invest in the energy sector in Sabah.

The group will also be visiting the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park on Thursday.
